The Ruined Palace still commands the landscape. It holds fast and defiantly to its strong foundations while the swamps that surround it nonchalantly rise up and swallow it with its dark, apathetic waters.

"The Ruins were created to further elevate both the scale and playability of the building system of Hagglethorn Hollow, but I soon saw a secondary opportunity and made the most out of what had just been created. As a tabletop adventurer myself, ruins are always an exciting place to explore, as well as a coveted landmark to dominate in any tabletop skirmish game. I figured, ‘How much work could a couple of ruins be? Well, it turns out, quite a lot of work! This was mostly due to the fact that I was determined to design the Ruins in such a way that they could be used with or without the dungeon bases and still have a unique visual impact on the gaming table. I also wanted to make sure that they were just as effective as stand-alone pieces. The final design element that was undertaken was realised when I was building up the towering structures of the two ruins and saw an opportunity to create a broken walkway between them to allow both sets to work together as one massive ruined palace. The effort was all very much worth it, with the ruins adding another level of character and intrigue to a tabletop and expanding on the historical journey of Hagglethorn Hollow."
